Jazz For Lunch Playlist

Creative endpapers are my jam and the folks responsible for Jazz for Lunch by Jarrett Dapier (illustrations by Eugenia Mello) really hit the ball out of the park in the endpaper category! Jazz For Lunch takes Music Readers to the kitchen of Auntie Nina (yes, that Nina!) who is preparing a special lunch for some pretty cool jazz cats. But you don’t know that when you first open up the book and see…

these glorious endpapers! Simple but effective illustrations of several jazz greats IN ADDITION TO a mini-bio! It’s almost too good to be true. It’s a really creative way to highlight the musicians that inspired the story. And usually, front and back endpapers are the same, but no. This book is next level and there is an entirely DIFFERENT collection of artists on the back endpapers.

Amazing!

I really appreciate the attention to detail and the creative way the illustrator
and author presented this music history lesson to young readers!

Enjoy this collection of jazz music based on the bios of the talented
musicians highlighted on Jazz for Lunch endpapers.
