Why the Treble and Bass Clef have different names!

The treble clef is where composers write notes for higher tuned instruments. The little curly part in the middle always swirls around the line “G.” For this reason the treble clef is sometimes called the G clef.

On the opposite side of things, the bass clef (pronounced like base, not like bass the fish!) is where composers write music for lower tuned instruments. The two little dots that on the right are above and below the line F. For this reason the bass clef is sometimes called the F clef.
